A smooth path translates into a sharper model. You can visualize the walk path of your captures using Camera Motion Playback to check if your captures meet the the best practice criteria below.
Closed‑Loop Mindset
Start and end each walk where you began. Loops help the CupixVista reduce alignment errors.
20‑minute Time Limit
For best processing results, captures are limited to 20 min maximum per walk.
Large sites? Break the site into multiple captures. multiple loops.
Coffee‑cup pace
Detail-rich, dimly-lit, and tight-enclosed areas such as machine rooms or aisles of a library benefit from slower, smoother movement. Move as if you’re carrying a full cup—no sloshing. That means walk slower than normal.
Caution around Corners
Stay ~1 m from obstacles. The camera should not get too close to walls, and if you take too sharp a turn the camera might miss an important detail. Take turns smoothly if you can.
3-second stop-then-go
VistaCapture will detect when you pause for 3-seconds and will automatically enhance the 360 image in the virtual tour.
You can also use OmniNotes if you need higher quality imagery than what's possible with a 360 camera
Visualizing the Walk Path
You can use Camera Motion Playback to better understand speed, motion and how well loops were closed.
