In CupixVista, user permissions and access levels are managed through Groups. Unlike some platforms that assign roles directly to a user's profile, Vista uses a group-based approach to define who has administrative power.
To make someone an Administrator, you simply add them to the "Administrators" group.
Understanding System-Defined Groups
Vista comes with three pre-defined groups that are essential to the workspace. These are System-Defined, meaning you cannot rename them or delete them.
- Users: This is the default group. Every member invited to your team is automatically added to the Users group. Members cannot be manually added or removed from this group; it serves as the baseline for all team members.
- Team Admins: Members of this group have full control over the team. This includes managing member profiles, changing settings, and creating or accessing all projects. A team can have multiple Administrators.
- Super Admin: This is a special, singular role with the highest level of authority (see details below).
How to Add or Remove an Administrator
To change who has administrative rights, you must modify the membership of the Team Admins group.
Note: You must be an Administrator yourself to add or remove other admins.
To Add an Admin:
- Ensure the person has already been invited to the workspace. (They will automatically be in the Users group).
- Navigate to the Team Admins group.
- Add the existing team member to this group.
- Once added, they effectively hold two memberships: they remain in "Users" but gain the permissions of "Administrators."
To Remove an Admin:
- Navigate to the Team Admins group.
- Remove the member from the group.
- They will lose administrative privileges but will remain in the workspace as a standard member of the "Users" group.
Important Note on the "Super Admin"
The Super Admin is a unique role created automatically when the account is first set up.
- Permissions: The Super Admin has all the permissions of a standard Administrator but also retains control over billing (where applicable) and the ability to terminate the team account.
- Limitations: There can be only one Super Admin per team.
- Changing the Super Admin: Currently, the Super Admin cannot be changed or transferred by users within the app.
