This article covers the installation and use of VistaCapture to connect to your 360 camera, capture a site, and upload Video and OmniNotes to CupixVista in order to create a 3D Scan.
Note: Mobile devices must meet the minimum requirements below.
- iOS: A12 chip or above, iOS 14.2 or above.
- Android: Android 10.0 or above, or HarmonyOS 2.0.0 or above.

Install VistaCapture
Find VistaCapture on the App Store or Google Play Store and install it.
Sign In or Signup
Launch VistaCapture then Sign In...
When you first open VistaCapture you'll see a tutorial, similar to what's shown below.
You can Sign In with your Email and Password if you already have an account.
Or.... "Create an Account"
If you don't have a CupixVista account, Find the "Create an Account" Link. This will take you to a Sign Up Dialog which will allow you to Create an Account.
- Click "Create an Account" to Sign Up
- Enter your Email and Choose a Team Name and Team Domain.
- You will need to choose a Team Name and Team Domain.
- When you invite other people to capture and collaborate with you.
- For example if your company is A+ Architects, you could use it for the team name and domain.
Connect to 360 Camera and Start Capture
Next, you will connect to your 360 Camera to create a new 360 Video Capture.
Connect to the Camera
- Power On your 360 Camera.
- Select your Camera
- Press "Join" to Connect to the Camera
Start the Capture
- Press "New 360 Video"
- You will see a 20 minute countdown.
Collect OmniNotes during your capture
Take OmniNotes during the capture details that your 360 Camera cannot capture alone. See Omninotes for more detail.
- Take Voice Notes: You can take a voice or audio recording during your capture.
- Take Photo Notes: You can take High Resolution Photo Notes that are automatically geolocated to your Capture.
Stop the Capture and Upload the Video File
Note: The video recording will automatically stop at 20 minutes.
When you are finished capturing, you can stop the capture and upload.
- Slide the Red Bar to Stop Capture when you have finished capturing your environment.
- Choose a name the Capture or use the default name.
- Upload the Capture or Upload Later*. You can upload immediately or wait until you have a Wifi network to upload. If you aren't connected to Wifi then uploading will use your phone's cellular data.
- 360 Video is first transferred to the App.
- The app then connects to the internet via Wifi (if available) or cellular.
- The app then uploads the 360 Video and all OmniNotes to CupixVista for processing.
The video file will be processed by CupixVista and an email notification will be sent to you when the 3D Scan is ready.
Upload Now or Upload Later?
If you are taking multiple of videos or if you in the field away from Wi-Fi then you might want to Upload Later. Choose Upload Now or Upload Later.
Upload Now
The App will immediately attempt to Upload the video you just captured to the CupixVista Cloud.
Upload Later:
The App will remember that there is a video file that needs to be uploaded. When you are ready to upload, click "Upload & Process" and follow the on screen prompts.
